Biography
Represented by Julian Page since 2010, Kate McCrickard (b. 1975) is a British painter and printmaker whose work explores intimacy, childhood, and the quiet rituals of domestic life. Based in Paris, McCrickard works across drawing, painting, and printmaking, often depicting her family, friends, or everyday interiors. Her compositions are characterised by a lyrical, gestural immediacy—figures emerge from layered marks, brushstrokes, and tonal shifts that evoke both presence and memory.

Having studied at Edinburgh College of Art, McCrickard became associated with the Paris printmaking community, producing etchings and monotypes that complement her painterly vocabulary. Her influences include Vuillard, Cézanne, and contemporary figurative painters who transform ordinary moments into psychologically rich images. McCrickard has exhibited at the Royal Academy, Espace Topographie de l’Art, and various European galleries. Her works are held in the British Museum, the V&A, and international private collections. She continues to develop a body of work that balances tenderness with a subtle, observational intensity.
