Point of View as Misfit:
A back of a head, a head attempted as a beautiful form, not a portrait. I’m aware the same can be argued when depicting a head viewed from either front on, three quarter view, or profile depicting eyes, nose and mouth and of course contrarily all motifs could be referred to as ‘portraits’.
- Painting a back ‘view’, as a front view. At the same time thinking of some great back views in art of the human figure including by: Giotto, Watteau, Ingres, Cézanne and Degas.
