"This series explores geometric combinations and patterned sequences through the language of maps and mathematical systems that appear in everyday contexts such as children’s games, atlases, and weavers’ draft notations. Order and seriality are bellied by subtle, intentional irregularities that aim to redirect and challenge the viewer’s eye. A sense of palpable mark-making in these pieces gives homage to the tactile, utilitarian source material from which I work."
